Lip reduction is a cosmetic procedure that decreases the size of the lips by reducing their volume. The procedure, called cheiloplasty, is ideal for those with an uneven pair of lips or specific lip abnormalities that may be overpowering other facial features.
With comprehensive knowledge in plastic & cosmetic surgery and almost more than decades of experience in cosmetic facial surgery, Dr.Nirved is uniquely qualified to deliver a successful lip reduction aligned with your aesthetic goals.
Surgery will start by creating a precisely calculated horizontal incision on the inside of the lip. The surgeon will then be removing excess tissue to reduce lip volume and create a more desirable lip line before carefully closing the incision with stitches.
Lip reduction is minor outpatient procedure. Once completed, you will be advised to avoid unnecessary lip movements over the next 48 hours. You may also need to take pain medication, apply a cold compress, and sleep in an elevated position for the first week to reduce discomfort and swelling.
You should expect the lips to be swollen for 1-2 weeks after surgery, and there may initially be a small amount of blood escaping from the wound once the anaeshetic wears off.
You can expect some swelling that will last for a few weeks. Cold compression can be applied or pain medication can be taken to ease the discomfort.
The result will be almost immediate and after the swelling has gone down around seven days later.
