As the name suggests “Mommy Makeover” is a group of cosmetic surgical procedures done with the intent to reverse the changes brought about by pregnancy, childbirth and lactation which rob away the charm of a pretty damsel making her less desirable in the eyes of their partners leading to low self-esteem.
Mostly after pregnancy women will see changes in their tummy and breasts, so these are the two areas we focus on. However, it may sometimes include non-surgical facial rejuvenation and vaginoplasty also.

Breasts and abdomen are the most affected areas. The breasts mostly sag and deflate and the abdominal muscles are stretched, fat is deposited in the waist and lower abdomen and in addition, there are stretch marks. No amount of diet and exercise will regain the lost muscle tone.
What surgeries are done in Mommy Makeover?
- In most situations, a formal mommy makeover requires working on the breasts and abdomen.
- For the breasts mastopexy with or without implants is performed. Sometimes, a reduction mammoplasty may be required.
- Tummy may just need spot liposuction or a full abdominoplasty or just a modified or mini tummy tuck.
- A combination of any of these procedures would entail a mommy makeover.
Can I have more kids after my Mommy Makeover?
No, I wouldn't recommend it. If more children are planned in the near future, it is better to wait. Though additional pregnancies are possible following abdominoplasty. However, the final result may not be as good if the tissues are stretched again with another pregnancy.
When can I get a mommy makeover?
You should wait until you no longer intend to have children, and at least six months after having given birth. If you're breastfeeding, you should wait six months after you've stopped breastfeeding.
What is recovery time for mommy makeover surgery?
It takes generally 3 weeks after the surgery when a normal life can be resumed.
What are the possible side effects of mommy makeover surgery?
The side effects are similar to most major operations:-
